The government advice is that we can re-open on Saturday 25th July. Which is great news and we look forward to welcoming you back.
Even though we have been closed for four months we have been busy with refurbishing parts of the club, extensive cleaning and thorough preparation for operating under social distancing rules.
The safety of everyone using the club is our main priority. With your safety in mind we are going to apply strict controls on numbers using various facilities throughout the club. We will operating a booking system for all facilities and this means no casual attendance or guests. All restrictions will be reviewed in line with government advice and we will be constantly monitoring the efficiency of the booking system and making changes if necessary.
We will initially run with booking one hour slots up to a week in advance for all facilities. On arrival at the club you must wait in the car park until your allocated time. This will allow us to confirm that all previous users have left the facilities. You will only be able to use the facility which you have booked, and you will need to have completed your activity and be ready to leave within the hour. This will allow others reasonable access.
Until the current rules are reviewed, use of the changing rooms is discouraged except by those who have booked to use the swimming pool. Please therefore arrive in appropriate gym kit with your own water bottle and do not bring kit bags or valuables into the club (with use of lockers discouraged). Please do not leave bags or valuables on display in vehicles.
We have installed a screen and a sanitizing station in reception and we will check temperatures of all members. If your temperature is above normal parameters, you will not be permitted into the club. If you are showing any symptoms, or have been contacted by track and trace we would ask that you do not enter the building. Under track and trace rules we must retain a record of who enters the building and you must therefore swipe your membership card.
Apologies but the sauna, steam room and jacuzzi will not be available at this time.
Capacity in the swimming pool will be limited to one person per lane. Individual swimming lessons and group lessons will not be running for now.
Aqua and swim fit classes will not resume due the available capacity in the changing rooms. At the moment there will be no family swim available (this will be constantly reviewed).
Equipment has been moved or taken out of action to ensure social distancing.
Sanitizing stations have been put in all gyms to allow you to wipe down equipment both before and after use.
We will have doors open and extraction systems running wherever possible. We would ask you to not use fire exits to access or exit the building.
Classes & Spin
We are running reduced classes (continually reviewed.) Booking for classes is all online or by phoning reception, and timings will be staggered where necessary to avoid queuing. Please bring your own mats to classes if you can.
The staff will be constantly monitoring facilities and if they observe non-compliance of the rules, this will be brought to that member’s attention. Continued non-compliance will result in that person’s membership being withdrawn until such time as social distancing rules are no longer in place.
To provide enhanced cleaning standards, staff will be asked to perform additional cleaning duties and we would ask members to respect the safety of all staff who will be working to maintain a safe and clean facility.
The booking system will be available through the Membr App, the website www.riversidesports.co.uk or by calling the club on 01454 888666.
