Aqua Aerobics
During through the month of August we look at the different classes that we have on offer. First of all being Aqua Aerobics. There are a number of benefits which can help with your health with aqua aerobics.
Benefits Include:
- To begin with, it helps to increase strength in muscle, though it may not seem it at the time, because of the resistance of water in the pool, it allows for a rigid workout and therefore will allow individuals to gain strength[1]
- Moreover, it increases endurance. Due to the resistance, with using your own body weight, you are working against the water throughout the whole class[2]
- It is a slightly lower impact exercise, by being in the water, it acts as a buoyancy and therefore takes some of the impact that may come from something like running on a treadmill [3]
- Furthermore, as with any other exercise, it helps to burn calories, between 400-500 in a class! [4]
- Moreover, it helps to reduce blood pressure! By being in the water, in helps to circulate your blood flow in the body, which will decrease the blood pressure. This will help your heart and will allow you to become more productivity [5]
- Finally, There is no limit to the age or ability of aqua aerobic participants and is a popular class for all ages![6]
