Racket Sports - Squash, Badminton, Tennis & Racket Ball

Squash-

With 3 courts, squash has always been associated with Riverside Sports & Leisure Club, and with teams in the premier division through to division 4 of the Gloucestershire winter and summer leagues, we are committed to providing some of the best courts in the county for our members.

We also have internal members leagues if you wish to challenge your friends, or see how you compare against team players. The squash scene is a competitive one, but also a friendly social one.

Members can book courts up to 7 days in advance, after 10am. Non-members are welcome to hire squash courts on the day at a fee of £3.70 per person per court. Court bookings can be made by calling the club on 01452 413214.

The club shop specialises in Prince and Karakal Squash rackets, with the latest rackets starting at £39.99. Squash shoes, balls and racket grips are also on sale. Racket re-stringing is also available with details of prices at reception. Basic nylon stringing starts at £20.95.

Badminton-

We have 4 brand new badminton courts located in our new sports hall, available to hire throughout the week, and at weekends. Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance, or via reception. Please call 01452 413214 for availability and booking. Members £3.00 per court/hour with free racket hire. Non members welcome, £6.00 per court/hour.

As badminton develops, we hope to soon have a regular badminton club and in the future enter teams into local leagues.

Tennis-

With 4 floodlit courts, the only club with purpose built floodlit tennis courts in Gloucester, tennis has been associated with Riverside Sports & Leisure Club for some time. Riverside Sports & Leisure Club has both Men's and Ladies teams who compete in the Gloucestershire Doubles Leagues.

Teams -
For the 2012/13 season there will be two men's teams and one ladies team playing doubles matches on midweek evenings. If you are interested in playing team tennis, please let us know via admin@riversidesports.co.uk and we will pass your details on to the team captains.

Adult Member -  Peak Free   /    Off Peak Free

Adult Non member – Peak £8  /  Off Peak £6

Junior Member – Peak Free (but not after 6pm Mon-Fri)  / Off Peak Free

Junior Non member – Peak £8  / Off Peak £4

Floodlights- (Per court per hour)
Floodlit tennis is a feature that Riverside Sports & Leisure Club is proud of. The floodlights are available on 4 courts and payment is required prior to the lights being made available via reception.

Adult/Junior Members Fee £6.00

Adult/Junior Non members Fee £16.00 (which includes the court hire)

To book a tennis court, please call Riverside Sports & Leisure Club on 01452 413214. Members can pre book courts up to 7 days in advance, from 10am, Non members can only book courts on the day.

Racketball -

A mixture of squash and tennis, racketball is perfect for those who enjoy and energetic racket based game. Racketball is played on a squash court, using tennis shaped rackets and a bouncy ball.

Courts are booked in the same way as our squash courts, via reception, or by calling 01452 413214. Bookings can be made up to 7 days in advance, subject to availability.

We have equipment available to hire, and there is no additional charge for use of lights etc.... For members, court hire is included in your membership. Non members are welcome, at a fee of £3.70 per court/45 minutes.
